Orange Voucher become harder? 17/12/2012

After hunting for orange vouchers, I finally got all 3 horses types on my farm. Using the same method, hiring Tom for 10 days. But this time I had difficulty finding orange vouchers even though I've been doing jewellery quests and metal quests non stop. After 3 days of using Tom, I finally got my first orange voucher from these quests.. I manage to get my pinto horse in 1 week because I still had 5 orange vouchers that I got before the update. So I only needed to find 4 more. Does this mean the developers changed the quest probability? Lowering the orange voucher quest to pop up? Too bad this time I can't recount the probability because my vouchers had already piled up from the previous time(click here for my voucher probability post). Everything mixed up already. But I did notice a change in the jewellery quests. Instead of the usual 2 necklaces that is needed for a delivery, I found another necklace quest that need 3 of it instead. And it seems this 3 necklaces request has the highest chance to get orange vouchers. At least that's how I got the rest of orange vouchers for my palomino and pinto horse.

Exclusive Decorations 08/12/2012

These are some of the decorations I encounter. All the images are from buyable deco with token and deco that can only be obtain from wheel of fortune. Thanks to Addy for remaining me! Will continue to update the image when I find new ones. I didn't put how much token these thing cost (some that I do have) because the token cost for everyone don't seem to be the same. I could use some help from anyone out there to complete this. Because it seem some of the decor cost orange token and it will take a while before anyone put it up on their farm with it. So if you guys would be willing to help by sending screenshot of your exclusive decoration to my mail, that would be much appreciated. My email is teavilla@yahoo.com

Market watch 03 Dec 2012

After almost 3 weeks since the update I see changes on the market. The newly added items have made a significant impact on what people put up for sale nowadays. Fruits such as raspberry and blackberry sell like hotcakes while before advertisments of these fruits spammed the brochure almost every 5 minutes. These new cake, drink and muffins made them stars over night. Bushes became a hit! Especially the life of these coffee, raspberry and blueberry bushes becomes shorter which is 3x collecting. On the other hand, the need for axes has increased dramatically. When I try to buy axes, it just seem they don't exist. Players are frantically tapping that axe advertisement trying to buy it like there is no tomorrow. Massive chopping bushes trend. Horror theme come to my mind, Jason the mask is in the house! It has become a phenomena nowadays. The relentless search for the new expansion's items has made me go back to my hardcore mode. Camping the brochure day and night as much as I can. On that process naturally I tend to level faster, spend obscene amounts of coin spontaneously on various items but also make money from it. I've got so much certificate/deed from my own farm, I'm practically drowning in it. The other 2 are rare to me. While doing all this expansion hunt, I notice that more and more people put their barn/silo tools on sale. Because many people are focusing on land expansion, they have little space left and throw their tools to the market to make more room. As soon as I notice this, I switch gears to hunt for these tools instead. I decided this based on my true need. Atm I haven't completed my expansions but I'm already satisfied that I got space to put my machines, bushes and trees. So a full expansion is just for aesthetic value, I can put more decor. With new items being added, 2k storage seems to be getting insufficient. Not every player needs expansions because some still have plenty of space. But most players constantly need more storage space. With comparison of 17 expansion slots that need merely 459 items in total compare to both storage that need 9234 items in total. People will complete the land expansion faster and it's clear to me that my storage remains as a top priority. And lately I find it rather 'easy' to obtain them and manage to expand both of my storages a few times. Well 'easy' of course is an understatement considering I'm competing with some of world fastest shopper in my district. What I mean about my district is that I have assumption that not all player in this game open the same page 54 advertising on the brochure. Like every 200 players have their own brochure jurisdiction. Of course this is only my assumption on how the brochure works. So using this market opportunity my goal is clearly set to expand my barn and silo instead of my farm land.

Hay Day Calculator

Finally it's here! The tools calculator comes to your aid! With the help of my beloved husband, well more like I sort of make him do this hahaha, love you huni! Very simple, first choose barn or silo, key in your current storage amount and then your goal amount, click calculate and you're done. Press reset if you want to calculate again. This is still trial mode, so if there are any malfunctions please do inform me. Btw, everything is based on the price of 270 coins each tool. Enjoy!

Silo & Barn Guide

Here it is guys, the heart of this game. It is the most important factor and asset in your farm. Sooo, before I get into the strategy let's do a little math shall we? Before, the tool price was 225 and even reached 375 during inflation. But I'm using the current price and everything down below is based on 270 coins for each tool. We are going to count how much we spend on this behemoth storage.

PHew that's a lot! But a long ago I didn't have that much money, I did not even come close to it. So I tried to be as efficient as I could to spare some space in my barn & silo. I invented a system using every player as my storage. I call it the Banking system. I sell all the products that I think is in abundance in the market, but not in a large stack. Because not many people can afford full stacks of items or can fit it in their storage. I also keep making these products myself since they mostly take a long time to make and it is a smart choice to produce before going to sleep. If I need them I'll just buy them again easily. Then I found out that in Hay Day the type of order is triggered by probability. And it seems that the items with a lower quantity have a higher probability than products with a bigger quantity. In the current system the high/highest amount-items also have a high probability to be triggered as an order. So what I do is setup my storage in a way that I think will trigger somewhat 'easy' orders to do. No one has seen my storage and it's a bit of a messy setup in the picture. Atm I feel like I have enough space, I don't really go hunting for tools anymore but if I happen to find some, I'll grab it. If not, naaah is ok. If you look at the top left window you can see several items with a low amount. That is the item I purposely keep low. If I have too much of them, I start dunking them into my shop. The items in the bottom, that I have a low amount off such as apple jam, bracelet, etc are things I really do need >.< At the same time I try to always keep a high amount of items like sugar, butter, etc. The blackberry juice is intended for selling. I sell rare stuff to my neighbors/followers if I have 40 or more. I do this because having a high amount of those means I'm not in a good position because I get a lot butter and sugar orders. Same as the silo, I always set it up so my lowest level item has the highest amount(well that coffee bean is high because I just harvested it). And at the same time I make it so that some other 'easy' to get crops I only have little of (in this case the cocoa is not intended to be low). This way I increase the chance of my chosen item to get picked by the order system. The goal of the storage is not just aiming to get it larger but also on how you manage your items inside the storage to help you. In theory, with the current game system, if many people are saving up their rare items and do storage arrangement, we as a player can help to balance the game/market. More people will buy the abundance item since demand is increased and sell more of the uncommon item on the market. But of course this would require understanding of each other. Such as lowering the price of eggs and bacon&eggs. It's a long shot. But the point of this post is for everyone, no matter what level you are, if you're able to turn your disadvantages into advantages, to treat the game system as your ally instead of an obstacle and enjoy the game while you're doning a lot of effort, then you have reached the level of Avant-garde and mastered the game.

Coffee Kiosk

After testing the new coffee kiosk all day, I ended up with 6 white sugar out of 40 while my machine produced white sugar non stop. So I have like 10 of each product that uses white sugar. I decided to produce raspberry mocha and caffe mocha for the rest of the day because both don't need white sugar. The machine initally gives two slots. I expanded just one slot because I don't think it is worth it to expand this machine too much. First of all my white sugar wont be able to compete with the production. Second, my coffee bean also wont last. I've planted like 60+ coffee bushes on my farm, lets see if I can still keep up and sell some of it. Unfortunately I have no clue what level these things get unlocked because everything is available to me. Btw coffee kiosk takes 1day 10hrs to open once you purchase it.
